Hi! I’m glad you’d like to contribute to this blog! Here are some ideas of what I’m looking for in terms of contributions. I’ll look at every submission, but it may take up to a week to get back to you, depending on how busy things get.

General guidelines:

  • Your post should be an original, never-before-published work
  • You agree not to publish the work anywhere else (for example, as a guest post on another blog), except on your own blog
  • You can include an image if you want to, but it’s not required. All images must be properly credited
  • I may suggest editorial changes to the copy, subject to your approval
  • Use bullet points for lists
  • Shorter paragraphs (2-4 sentences) are preferred

  • UI design patterns: use cases, pros/cons

  • General graphic design principles applicable to FileMaker development
  • Using design to solve end-user problems
  • Best practices in design
  • Design trends
  • Your design methodology
  • What inspires you about design
  • Why design is important to your work/life/FileMaker development
  • Something surprising or important you learned/problem you solved while designing an application
  • A cool design-related book you read/site you found and why

It can be in the form of:

  • Article/blog post
  • Case study with screenshots
  • Interview (Q&A)
  • Before-and-After
  • Book review
  • Link post to other helpful/interesting/cool resources
  • Step-by-step with screenshots


  • 500-1500 words, approximately


  • You can include one link in the byline (e.g. to your own website)
  • It’s nice if you want to link to other posts on this blog, but not required
  • You can use up to 5 links in your article. If you’d like to use more than this, please let me know
  • No affiliate content
  • No SEO links in the article text
